| Anybody else hear of this? Supposedly it's a clause for them to seize property upon death in order to pay back the cost of treatment, denying inheritance to the surviving family members. Is this just rumors or is there truth to this? If so what are the chances of it being repealed? |

It's been that way for awhile IIRC. I always heard that you had to transfer your assets to someone x years before you went into the nursing home to prevent the .gov from coming to get theirs after you died. I think we had a thread on this recently. Truth. It happens all the time. |
