Magnet Mount? > General Discussion

I got few and conflicting opinions so I thought more exposure in GD might elicit a more useable response. If this is not cool, please let me know/delete.

Wife bought me a random magnet mount that screws into surface. You then stick your hand gun to it for quick hidden access. Obviously there is
the unholstered trigger issue. That aside...what happens when parts of a hand gun become magnetized?

I heard if you leave your gun on it long enough, it will start to point north.

so you leave your gun stuck to a magnet and eventually magnetize it.. couldnt that perhaps impact the operation of the now magnetized (or not) parts inside the gun?

After the gun becomes magnetized it will attract any tiny metallic dust dirt and other undesirable stuff. The rubber coated surface will also attract the same and become abrasive.
