Here's my Redbone Coonhound, Belle, wearing her new backpack. She has a tremendous amount of energy and the vet suggested letting her carry around some extra weight would give her a workout and calm her down. I put Nalgene bottles filled with water on each side of her pack. She's still getting used to the extra width and is clumsily bumping into stuff.

This is Lonnie Dog the Great, my best friend. He's half Rat Terrier and half Dachshund. He was a rescue and had it pretty tough when he was younger. I still has a BB in him where he was shot and his jaw was broken, but it did not heal completely straight, resulting in a wicked underbite. But, don't worry, he is being spoiled rotten. His idea of hiking is walking around the neighborhood and hiking from one sofa cushion to the other.

all the great dog pics forced me to take one of mine. He is a good friend and can't say enough about him... just a great all round dog. This pic is of him warming up by the fireplace. You can see him checking out the wife's wallet that she left on the floor. I can almost hear him thinking "I wonder how much trouble I would get in if I used that as a new chew toy".
