A buddy is selling his like new gen 2 G19 with 3 mags a SS guide rod and a 5.11 holster. He is adking $400
I don't know the round count, but I know him, and I'd guess <500. Good deal or no? |

Quoted:
Get it and buy a new original guide rod. $400 isn't too bad, a lot of people go after the gen 2 guns. If you're an EMT or FF you could get a new gen 4 for that price plus tax, though. Yeah, but the biggest drawback that a new Gen 4 has is that it isn't a Gen 2. |

Not for you. I am assuming with the avatar you are probably an EMT as well. You can normally get blue label pricing new as you technically fall under DHS. I know I got it. If not, it's a good deal. Quoted:

Wouldn't matter if he was an EMT. If (by his avatar) he is a firefighter, he still qualifies for blue label pricing. Picked up a Gen 2 G23 in like new condition (in the box with paperwork) for the same price about 6 years ago. Night sights, Glock extended slide lock lever, Galco Fletch holster and Uncle Mike's kydex holster were included in the deal. I'd take your G19 deal in a heartbeat. |

Quoted: I would pay the extra for a Gen 3 or 4. But that is just me. Its a decent enough deal though. I wouldn't buy a Gen 4. They had problems with their crap extractors. It may or may not have had the 'new style' extractor put in it, yet. Some of the other parts are MIM, too. If it is Gen 3, you are good to go. Most of the guys on glocktalk.com prefer the Gen 2 Glocks, when they can find one in good shape. |
