Surprised it took this long. |

I used to watch it religiously and still did in my early 20s then I just lost interest in it. When Jimmie Johnson started winning championships left and right with no real competition it didn't have much interest to me.
What's the new rules this year? There;s been so many changes in the last half decade that I lost track. |

Will be the first year I cant say go Mark Martin. He will be driving the 14 tomorrow and Friday at Daytona testing He will be testing for MIkey this year during the season and will still drive "select" races for him. |

Just do away with it and be done. The odds of another driver winning the championship and not winning a race like Matt did is unbelievable. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nascar/2014/01/17/nascar-point-system-chase-sprint-cup-eliminations/4603939/ http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2014/01/17/4620805/nascar-to-overhaul-points-chase.html edit: He did win one race that year.

I miss 80's/90's nascar racing. I still watch it but it to me those cars then were were so tits. Tide, coors, western auto, STP!, good wrench, snickers, purelator, mellow yellow cars were some of my favortites. I loved days of thunder too
Like when a drive got the "time to go" call, and the car went. 15 to go and Gant would take his Skoal Bandit 33 to front for the win! |

NASCAR is communistic. They keep trying to make it equal for all. Some men and teams are just better than others. F1 seams more like....Sorry you suck, try harder next time. I didn't say I don't like or watch I have not missed a 500 since I went in 92. I love motor racing. Just don't like how the Gov/NASCAR keeps messing with it to make it "fair". ![]() |

Changes in qualifying for this year.
http://www.nascar.com/en_us/news-media/articles/2014/1/22/2014-nascar-qualifying-changes-multicar-group.html From a discussion on the TMS facebook page, if you blow up, crash or what ever during the heats you are out for that race. If true, this format will not last long. If Jr or some of the more popular drivers or a few of the big money sponsors cars miss several races changes will be made. NASCAR is never going to draw stick and ball type TV, advertising, or popularity numbers. Quit trying and leave it alone. The more they trick it up, the more people they will run off. |

Ghey new Chase Format
Why do Little Bill and Robin insist on destroying Stock Car racing?
|
|
I don't totally hate the new format, but it is not great either. I like rewarding winning a lot more, but then they erase the wins to start the chase and after each elimination. WTF?
So you can win every race but the last one and not be champ? And the person that is champ could actually be winless on the year and have finished 39th in the final race. You can enter the chase with 10 wins and get eliminated in the first round when someone 12th in points continues on, possibly winless for the year.
I'd like to see some concept of bonus points for wins carrying on a round or something. Can you see a driver allowing a teammate to win to get in the chase? maybe far fetched... I don't know, but if you have a win or two you really are not racing for points or wins to pad your chase points. On the plus side, once you have your win there is no point damage in knocking yourself out of the race doing something stupid or having bad luck. Jeff Gordon must be smiling. He seems to get the one win in a sea of bad luck lately. Junior is devastated by this, one of the most consistent chase drivers would have missed it a lot more. |

I can't wait until Jimmie wins two more championships. I love going around to die hard NASCAR fans and trolling them by saying that Jimmie will go down as the greatest of all time. JJ is talented, but don't forget the other half, C.K. Without him, jimmy would not be where he is. I agree though, I believe he will go down in history as one of the best there ever was......... |
