Quoted:
I watched it a while ago. It was really good. I'd recommend it. Not sure how factual it is though Another guys version of it is called "The One That Got Away".. it is apparently a much more accurate version of the story. McNabb doesn't seem like he is quite the hero Bravo Two Zero makes him out to be. |

McNabb doesn't seem like he is quite the hero Bravo Two Zero makes him out to be. That was an inaccurate aspect of the television movie that got put in without Chris Ryan's approval. He and McNab are friends, and he was seriously pissed when he was told it was staying in the film, and that he had, per the contract, no real say in the movie script. Youtube vid here, revelvent bit at 3 minute mark. |

McNabb had to change the story a lot to get it past the UK M.O.D., which of course, lead to complaints about inaccuracies. |
| There were a three other books that came out, two from other members of the patrol (Chris Ryan's "The One That Got Away" and "Soldier Five" by Mike Coburn) as well as a separate SAS author (Michael Asher "The Real Bravo Two Zero") who went to Iraq after the war to retrace the patrol's steps. The three combined really took down the story as presented in the book behind the movie. Fun watch, but the impression after all the books is that their helo drop was much too close and the locals knew that something was going on very early. The team moved to avoid the locals investigating which led to the patrol separation and other events. |
