I can guarantee he won't be graduating from boot anytime soon... However, ARMY basic training is ten weeks long.

Depends on MOS. MP and Combat Engineers have a longer OSUT than a person just doing Basic Combat Training for a non OSUT MOS.

is it exactly ten weeks long?  is it safe to project ten weeks from his departure date and have a ballpark of his grad date?

No.  Do you know his company and battalion?  If so, you can find the graduation dates on Fort Leonard Woods website.  I'm half an hour from there and have been to a couple graduations.  If you have the chance to go, I highly recommend you do so.  It's actually a cool ceremony.  Lots better than mine at Ft Benning School for Boys oh so many years ago.....

don't have any information yet.. but the family is looking into the near future for travel and the drive time is close to 18 hrs..  so they are thinking a sleeper cabin train or flying and want to get a ballpark of cost ..   i told them to hold off long as possible to ensure he doesn't get recycled..

thanks for the information though..  ill forward it..

All depends on when he actually starts basic. He could sit in the reception battalion for a month like I did.

The correct spelling is Fort LostIntheWoods.
