We were stationed in Germany for 12 years '48-'60. Learned on the real deal from Holland. (Colonial era they had a heavy prescence in SE Asia). I love them fresh cooked and dusted with garlic and chili powder. Fucking Yum, wash 'em down with a cold Heineken ftw! 44-40 |

The local Thai food place serves out these small frisbee looking chips that are very easy to put away. Dipped in a sambal Olek, they kick ass. I finally asked what they were, and was a little surprised to hear "Shrimp Chips"! I will continue to call them Popplers....."mmm, Popplericous"

You buy a box or bag of them, then fry them up at home. Amazing. And they stick to your tongue. |

A note of clarification........Mom/Dad went over in 1948. I was born in Germany in 1957. Left when 3 yrs old. My Mom used to order the chips from a Company in NJ, until they became more widely availible. Made several trips to Germany during the 80's and 90's to see my Brother (USAF) and various German family friends. 44-40. |
