I finally got around to setting up a new HTPC.  I originally built a mini-itx machine about 6 years ago.  It had a VIA Epia CPU/Motherboard.  It was ok.  It was quiet and played video from my NAS.  It broke.  I purchased a Vizio Co-star googletv box.  It was the biggest piece of shit.  RMAed it a couple of times.

Now I decided to do a new HTPC.  I purchased a used small form factor on ebay for $80.  It has the AMD E-450 APU, 4gig RAM and 1tb drive.  I installed linux and XBMC.  Everything installed and was configured in less than an hour.  The longest part was formatting the 1tb drive.  I have it hooked up the TV via HDMI.  I am using my Logitech remote and a usb IR receiver.  The case is a little big so I will eventually move all the internals to my other itx case.  I also want to get rid of the 1tb drive and put an SSD in it.

It is pretty good.  I was surprised at how well it does everything I want it to.

There is an xbmc add-on for plex.  I'll look into it but not sure if I need it.
