| I normally duck hunt south Ga, where its not cold at all. That being said I going to central Missouri for a duck hunt and am looking for some cold weather waterproof gloves that you can still shoot with, anyone have any suggestions? |
| I have yet to find a pair of truly waterproof gloves that you can shoot with. I use a elbow length fleece lined rubber gloves for decoys, and keep my shooting gloves in my bag. But I usually don't wear them anyways, because I can't stand calling with gloves on. |

They work very well, even when your hands do get wet. |

Thick long johns. Thick smart wool socks. That fleece neck thing that can also be a hood from Cabelas. Good jacket with a warm hood. Decoy gloves for setting and picking up. I hunt in water so I use neoprene waders with the thinsolate. And a hand warmer/ shell holder hanger.

I use a hand warmer pocket ( the kind that straps around you) and use thin shooting gloves I can call with. we hunt all the time in sub zero temps. For messing with dekes, I use gauntlet type decoy gloves. Same here. As do I. its been a cold bitch in NE OK the past 2 weekends. 12 degrees without the windchill last weekend and today was brutal. 25 degrees but a wind that bit you in half, I assume partly due to it blowing the tops of all the ice. |
| No such thing as a good waterproof glove FOR SHOOTING. Picking up decoys? Sure. The only material that retains warmth when wet is wool. I dont wear gloves unless we're setting up\, or picking up, but it's not just so I can shoot, the sound of your call changes with gloves on too. |

I've been duck hunting central MO off and on for the past 15 years.
I use neoprene gloves to set decoys and then wear no gloves while hunting - I just stick my hand in my pockets. If you're wading, thick neoprene waders and a solid parka will keep you warm. Shoot, I don't even zip my parka half the time. I don't know where you're heading to, but Eagle Bluffs south of Columbia has been producing some solid hunts. But now that really cold weather has moved in the pools will likely freeze and push the ducks to the river. The water will stay open near the inlets & you will bust ducks there even when nothing else is flying. If you're hunting the river there should be some good sandbars to set up on now that the river has iced up. |

I even go so far as to undo my right wader shoulder strap as to not interfere with my shotgun mounting. |

This thread reminds me of a Missouri hunt a couple of winters ago.
It was in fhe single digits, and we were hunting some of the very limited open water in the area. It was so cold that when we would shoot a bird the blood would freeze almost immediately, and remained bright red. When we waded out of the open water our waders would freeze solid. |

i gave up on gloves a long time ago. i'll throw some handwarmers in a pocket or a muff. if i do wear any gloves i wear ski gloves for the boat ride, or rag wool glomitts no gloves while calling This. I'll wear glove for the boat ride, putting out decoys, etc. However, during the hunt, I will not wear gloves, Especially while calling. They seem to make a call sound funny, at least to my ears anyway. |
