Bought an 80% EP lower blem for $35. Milled it out just fine but when I was done I found that no
matter how I tried I could not get the buffer tube to thread. The EP guy said "Steel always trumps plastic" and to force it in. He commented the buffer threads are tapered.
I tossed it in the safe and gave up on it. A few weeks ago I decided to play around with it again because I scored a dirty cheap LPK from PSA. These lowers have raised pinholes with a conical depression to use as a drill guide. Well my selector hole bore must have walked. It was way off. I step drilled it but I still had the issue. As far as the lower goes when milling out the inside area I found a couple voids in the walls of the lower. I suspect the "blem" is more than cosmetic. Some guys have had great luck with these. I didn't. They have the non-blems FS for $75 on the site now but I think I'm done playing for now. Unfortunately I have an extra LPK now. You know what that means.
