A friend and I were joking about mail order brides and the subject of cost came up. I can't find anything when I googled it, so I figured someone on here has to have done it to get out of their moms basement. Any one wanna throw their 2 cents in?
FYI I am not looking for one. |
| Guy I knew had one. She was crazy, always drinking, everytime I visited his house she would give me shots until I was drunk, then scream at him in tagalog, he would reply in english, it was hilarious. She kept sending his money to her sick family in the philippines. They almost got divorced, but I guess they worked it out. She was way hotter than any American he would get. |

My best friend that I grew up with left his American wife of many years to marry a Russian woman who was much younger than him that he met in Moscow while he was working for Coca-Cola Corporation over there.
A few years later the Russian woman ended up with more than half of his money, his nice home that he owned in North Carolina and a green card. He ended up with a hard lesson learned. I am not sure that buying a woman is a very good investment. |

I know a coworker who had a Russian mail order bride. Last I checked after quite a few years, still married, and she was quite attractive IIRC. Of course he was a pretty smart guy and a good judge of character. |

A good friend of mine married a Russian KGB employee when he was an Army Captain, met thru some mail service. I often wondered what the Army thought of that. 
They been married around 20 years now, he works for Dell and she runs some online women's clothing shop. Very nice people. |

He would go over to Soviet Russia, host a couple of beauty pageants, and line the winners up on his international "dating service" website. If you wanted to meet one of the women, you paid him a fee. He made about 300K/year for a few years, then sold the company. Did I mention that, every time he was over there, he'd bang the crap out of a bunch of hot Russian coeds? |

They don't come with the explosives - explosives are part of the past that they're hoping you'll overlook. They were a significant part, though. Which is why they are the Ikea tables of the mail order bride world. (Some assembly required.) |

I was bored...I checked all the flights coming into Jacktown for possible matches.,,for the next several days. Nada. Nothing. Zip. He let slip to one of the women working that he had sent her money for the ticket. He waited around all night. I kept telling him maybe he should go home and contact her. He wouldn't leave until after the last flight got in. I felt sorry for him, but dang...he had to see that one coming. Gus |

Marry a woman who wants US citizenship, then when that happens divorces you. And then get a new one. Sounds like a plan. Funny addition. That sounds like a good outcome except the previous divorce may have left you in a bad financial situation...especially if you were dumb enough to have kids. |

Gus I can laugh at this, and it makes me want to tear up, sort of, but not really.. I'm a pilot for American. One night, really, really late, we got to Kansas City, from Chicago. The rest of the crew and I, were the very last people out of the security checkpoint, after putting the jet to bed. As we walked out,there was this guy and his kid, standing there, with some flowers. He asked us if there were any more people from our plane coming. We informed him, that we were the last ones. He seemed kind of upset. As we walked away, I could hear him telling the lone gate agent his story. He had met a woman in Russia on the internet, fallen in love, and sent her a wad of cash, so she could fly here to marry him. I wanted to laugh at him, I sort of wanted to cry with with him. But I really feel bad for the guy. I'm married to a Ukrainian woman, and I REALLY, REALLY hate the term "mail order bride"! If anyone thinks you can pick a girl off a website, send her some $$, and have the bride of your dreams..Well I've got some news for you.. I know lot's of American guys married to foreign women. Most are very happy. Some are miserable. But the majority are very, very happy. I'm accused of having a "mail order bride", since my wife and step son, are still in Ukraine, while we battle with .USGOV over their green card, nine months now after we filed for them to become Legal Permanent Residents. She is a great woman, but (I know many will fail to believe this)she has zero desire to live in the United States. It's her absolute last choice, of places to live. So I really believe she is not hunting for a green card. Like she says, "People are just people", no matter where they are from, or live. The same with women, they are just women, no matter where they are from. If you think they will be different, because they are from another country….Hang on brother, it's going to be a wild ride.. There are lots of good foreign women out there. But not many willing to be a "maid with benefits". I'd hate to even start to add up how much $$ I will have spent, by the time they get here. But I'm hoping it will be worth every penny. And since I know the rules.. At a BB shooting gallery, on the mountain Ai-Petri, in Crimea.

I met my wife through a "pen-pal" type web site service for Filipinas interested in meeting American men. It was NOT "mail order" and I have traveled to the Philippines six times between courting my wife and visiting family with our children since our marriage. My wife is now a naturalized US citizen, and we have a genuinely happy 14 year marriage with two wonderful children. The trick is to find a Filipina with traditional values, most likely from the rural province areas as opposed to the big city "bar girls" types. I was married once before, without children, for nine years to an American psycho "anger management" challenged horse riding woman and I can genuinely without hesitation proclaim I am immensely more happy now.  |
There's a guy locally who owns a jewelry store. He does quite well. Not old or fat or anything either. He imported a Russian woman and married her. Smoking hot blonde, sounds like a Bond villainess when she talks.. 
So she got her citizenship and divorced him. Still works for him in the jewelry store. Hell, maybe she owns half of it. Anyway, he imported another one from Russia, this one's brunette and even hotter than the first. Married her and SHE works in the store as well. They all seem to get along, so who knows what's really up there... |

A well crafted prenup and snip job should be the basis of any potential love connection.
