I am going to do some video blogs, reviews, etc. I need some recommendations for a software pcakge that can do some basic things like splice/combine, screen capture, switch between screen capture/webcam (if possible), dub audio over screen capture, add in basic text/logo's for intros/outros. Most videos won't be long. Probably under 5 minutes, maybe 10 max. Uploaded to youtube primarily. It doesn't have to be fancy. This isn't going to be mysteryguitarman or epic rap battles type of stuff or complex effects. Just simple a/v editing. This will be on a windows 7 64bit pc. I'm on a budget right now because i'm not working, so free or under $50 would be preferable. However, if there's a simple one stop shop program for under $200 that would save me from having to upgrade a few months or a year down the road I would consider it if it was a large jump in features, editing speed, and ease of use. |

Windows Movie Maker is simple and easy to use - mostly drag and drop. Not sure if you can capture directly from a webcam, but there are plenty of programs that will do that for you - then just drop it into Movie Maker. It can also upload directly to YouTube.
Movie Maker Download The other big, free option is Lightworks - great package but steep learning curve. You should probably read their documentation before you download it. Lighworks Downloads |
