Where does one go to find the large scale kits?  The really big fuckers.....

There are some bigger kits (1/24th scale) at Squadron Mail Order.  I've seen some Russian made fiberglass large scale kits of submarines and aircraft that were pretty impressive and expensive. You'll have to google that stuff.  One was an AN-22.

I want to find a really big Enterprise D kit... I think it would be fun over the winter to build something like that.

If you're into car models there is a really kick ass McLaren MP4/4 model from Tamiya.  1/12th scale with a lot of detail.  Tamiya also had a lot of other big scale models like 1/16th scale tanks.

Edit:  Sorry it's an MP4/6

Check out EBAY (And CL) for some good deals too.  I've been buying a lot of old Monogram "White Box" kits off of

them for about a year and a half now and have gotten some killer deals.
If you want BIG WW-2 kits that you build yourself (?) HK Models has a couple of killer kits in 1/32nd scale (A B-25 and B-17G).

They ain't cheap but,....they're BIG
You could also look at the old "Ultimate Soldier/21ST Century Toys"
pre-built 1/18 stuff that's all over EBAY too if you just want stuff

to display (They're BIG and...they take about 5mins to put together).

I'm building a 1/48 Monogram B17G (I built at least ten of these as a
kid in the 70's) right now and IT'S a big kit (19in long with a 26in

span) but, the HK version comes in at 27in long with a 38in span!
Here's an example of the Monogram kit that some dude went "CRAZY" on.

Here's the B-17 from HK....

Those are going to be hard to find, AMT did the molds for most the Star Trek stuff including the Enterprise D, they lost the franchise and the molds have been in limbo for years. Outside of ebay the 2 best places to look would be these two guys

http://www.rare-planedetective.com/

http://www.deanshobbystop.com/

I know both realtime, they deal in used (not built. just bought and stored) model collections. You'll have to use the phone though, their websites are seldom updated this time of year since they sell at scale model contests/swapmeets around the country and don't keep things updated.....plus they could get something in 1 weekend and move it the next weekends show.

Use my name, I run one of the larger type contests these guys attend and have know both for longer than any of us want to admit If they got it they'll take care of you

Ouch ...about what I expected though given how hard that is to find.

Any way he goes we'll need to replace the kit decals, I did the Defiant that timeframe and those decals SUCKED. Starship Modeler carries replacements for them IIRR (I do mainly WWII Luftwaffe and RAF stuff but also used to be a show vendor so I know a lot of guys )

Nicely done. I did that Defiant I mentioned on a commission build (got screwed too but that's another rant) and that was enough starships for me, I'll stick with airbrushing Luftwaffe camo

Couple of 1/72nd Bf 109's I did a year or so ago

Currently working on a Bronco Models M1114 Uparmored Humvee. I am less than halfway done with it; kind of hard to find time off between my work and other stuff, specially now with a move looming in a week or so (moving to a renovated apartment inside the complex I currently live), but it's coming alone nicely.

THis is what it's supposed to look like once finished, though it might look a bit less detailed than this.

The new AMT/Round 2 company still has the rights for it in North America. They re-released the 1/1400 Enterprise D a few years ago in clear plastic and should still be easy to find.Revell has the European rights and released a 1/600? scale models of the original Enterprise and Klingon Cruiser. Polar Lights makes a 1/350 scale of the original Enterprise and the rebuild Enterprise from the movies which is about 3 feet long built up.
