The President is going to unilaterally "announce" changes to the ACA that the law itself does not countenance. He's done it before. But not on this scale.
It is an intolerable act. Discuss. |

CBS report Major Garrett called him on it.
Interestingly, the article on CBS that covers Obama's announcement repeatedly refers to him as "Mr. Obama" instead of the title of "President Obama". http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-250_162-57612345/obama-letting-people-keep-canceled-health-plans-for-another-year/ |

Details? What changes? He is "allowing" plans that have been cancelled to be re-instated for one year, which is outside the scope of the law. However, I'm sure the insurance companies, having gone through the expense of managing the cancellations and sending out notices, will be thrilled at the option to undo all of that, issue reinstatements, and then go through it all again in a year's time. Or they could just say "fuck it" and not spend all the money to manage the circus of incompetence and leave the cancellations in place. |

The real hubris and arrogance of the administration is that they assumed a program that was passed despite overwhelming opposition from the public would also be a plan that the public would participate in, just because Obama said so. Instead, people are just ignoring it.
Obamacare is doomed. It has been an utter failure and can only continue to fail more. It's a failure of gigantic, epic, even legendary proportions that will be remembered for decades and the only thing that can happen from here is it fails even more, causing more hardship on the American people and businesses. There is no excuse now for Republicans to allow this to continue, but somehow they'll keep fucking their own football. |

He, basically, ordered private businesses to re-instate policies/products that were no longer available due to government regulation. Let...that...sink...in. |
