Local pawn shop has a 10-22 for $225.00 out the door.  Comes with a stock mag and a 25 round mag.  Looks real nice.

Is this a good price?   What should I look out for on a used 10-22?

Thanks!

Used?  If it's just your standard wood stock 10/22 that's a bad deal.  You can usually find them new for ~$250.

The Takedown is running about $350 new.

ETA:Here's one for $240 new shipped.

Stainless?  If so I'd buy it.

If it's blued with the plain wood stock I'd pass at $225 and offer $180 OTD even if they keep the 25 rounder.  I think WM sells them for $217.00 new.  As long as it functions I wouldn't worry about it too much since every single part on it can be easily replaced.

It's blue with a wood stock.  I guess I'll pass on it

If it is a stainless synthetic it might be worth considering if you can talk them down some. The world is full of 10-22's so there will always be another. If it is the basic wood/blue model you would be paying new price for a used gun.

You still need to buy a 10/22 though.

I don't know why, but the pawn shops around here usually ask for retail price on their used stuff.

The $225.00 OTD was after I talked them down about $25.00

I saw a base model for $219 at the gun store the other day.

I'm convinced that the pawn shops around my place are just fronts for laundering drug money.  Their used gun prices are full retard.

If you can wait for a couple of weeks and scan the ads for black friday sales. I've seen them go pretty cheap a few times.

If it's a pre 1970 I would buy it in a heartbeat. check to see if it has two rails in the receiver instead of one.  Pre warning barrel too.
