I have a Leatherman at home, and a gerber suspension here is Afg. I would like to get something for my wife as a purse tool, (she lost my Swiss Army knife to the TSA). And it if is a really good deal, I might pick up one for myself too... Thoughts And I have posted photos of her before, so search for them if you must. |

Any reason why? They have a NEW wave out too. Quoted:

Get the Wave. Done. They have a NEW wave out too. Perfect size, right number of tools. It's the best all around general use multitool they make IMO Been using mine for years. I screwed up my serrated blade by accidentally cutting a live wire. Cut a notch in the blade and leatherman said they would fix it for free anyway, just haven't gotten around the sending it to them. |

For just a purse tool, and not for defense...I'd go with a SAK mechanic, works great, light/thin and people don't freak out when you pull I out. |

Leatherman Micra. I've had a couple of them myself, and given a few voluntarily and a few unvoluntarily to women for purse duty. Its slimer than the other small leatherman, and at least equally useful. I would wager the very strong scissors (they make great wire cutters) are more useful than dinky pliers on the other choices.

I have broken all multi-tools apart from Leatherman tools. I wouldn't buy any other. I've carried a Leatherman SuperTool v.1 for close to 15 years and have used it at work for quite a few tasks and love it. Last Christmas, I bought myself a SAK SwissChamp and have been carrying that around for the past 10 months and enjoy it as well. Does more, but maybe it's not quite as robust as the ST v.1. For a woman's purse, I'd suggest the SAK. Chris |

I really liked my Gerber 600 multitool. Lightweight, versitile and strong. Forgot them on the front porch one day and the fuckers grew legs within an hour...
Got a Gerber Suspension multitool and I cannot recommend it. It's heavy and weak (broke it once already). |
