Hey guys so i went back to oregon today and went shooting. I was wondering, how hard are mag dumps on the barrel of a bcm bfh mid length upper (16 inch ). What kind of fire would cause throat erosion so bad that the gun would be damaged? Also I finally changed out my ejector and ejector spring in my bcm bolt with colt parts. It needed it bad. The spring was short as hell and banana shaped/

10-15k rounds. Unless you're really rich and like to dump ammo for fun, I don't think you'd damage it in excess. Have you ever had it glowing?

no not even close. today i dumped 1 pmag 40 (first mag dump ever). The rifle has about 3-4000 rounds through it. Still very accurate. I am just curious what it can handle. It is Bcm and they are bad ass.

I think its 7 degrees temperature raise per round on the barrel

Is there a point of diminishing gains though?

Shoot it how you want, and replace the worn out parts when the time comes.

I make my rare KAC SBR smoke regularly

they did a torture text using bushmaster rifles, shooting wolf ammo...... they were showing pretty decent barrel wear at 10.000 rounds i believe. but they were shooting them until they were extremly hot.
