| Anyone know where I could find information on some? I'm doing a paper for my Honors Social Studies class on Gun Control (as a social reform issue). Also, any ideas for a cool demonstration? I've done numerous papers in the past on Gun Control, but I want to make this one good and before I had not included court cases (keep in mind I'm a freshman in high school). Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

NRA second amendment center http://www.nra.org/frame.cfm?title=NRA%20Institute%20for%20Legislative%20Action&url=http://www.nraila.org Sorry that link is no good. Look at the politics and legislation section of the NRA website. They have a page "research" then go to "second amendment" I think Project Exile is interesting. This is a Department of Justice program tried in several cities (I heard about it going on in Rochester NY). The Justice Department prosecutes what would normally be considered state criminal cases by prosecuting a federal firearm crime in federal court. This then forces the criminal to get shipped off to a federal prison on the other side of the country, instead of to a state prison where his family can easily visit him and where a bunch of his homies are already incarcerated. There are certainly people with opinions on both sides as to this program. |
