If no kids....what's it all about?
Seems to be what life is supposed to be about. Emphasized much more strongly with the holiday season approaching. Can't seem to come up with an acceptable answer. So what say you? |

I am 38 without a wife and kids. The older I get the more I do not regret having kids.
I think life is just about living and doing the right thing. At the end of the day it's about being able to look in the mirror and being satisfied with who you are. Often times I am reminded of the ending of Saving Private Ryan when he asks if he has lived a good life. Have you? |

No kids, never wanted them, no regrets so far at 49.
This life, I think, is to learn & grow. Personally, I think there is other life after this one; re-incarnation, maybe here, maybe on another (hopefully better) plane. You grow wiser as you go, and that is the point of this place. Tho personally, given the number of stupid people here, I suspect this is a pretty low-grade school. |

The idea that 'everyone needs to have kids' is one reason we have so much FSA. Not everyone needs to have kids.
If you need purpose in life, help other people by volunteering or helping to strengthen the economy by being successful. Or, if you feel that you need to have kids, try to have kids. Or try to adopt. There are many noble, legitimate ways to live life well. |

enjoy life but also try to make a difference in others. Volunteer your time with kids, animals, elderly - doesn't have to be a lot either.
You would be surprised by how many Vietnam vets have their story bottled up inside and just giving them an unjudgemental ear takes a 100 pounds off there back. walking a dog at a shelter that got abandoned may just calm it down to look picture perfect for that family walking the line for a new pet. Talking faith to those behind bars could put them on the right course when they get out. Yeah I know many will soak up your time and not benefit from it - but just 1 can go on to change the world. Christmas / Thanksgiving can be easily passed by a Band of Brothers marathon Find your nitch (easy for you - difficult for others) and apply it. |

A human sperm fertilized a human egg, and there you have it.
Who says there has to be a "point" to it? Lyrics by Neil Peart:
Well, you can stake that claim -- Good work is the key to good fortune Winners take that praise Losers seldom take that blame If they don't take that game And sometimes the winner takes nothing We draw our own designs But fortune has to make that frame We go out in the world and take our chances Fate is just the weight of circumstances That's the way that lady luck dances Roll the bones Why are we here? Because we're here Roll the bones Why does it happen? Because it happens Roll the bones Faith is cold as ice -- Why are little ones born only to suffer For the want of immunity Or a bowl of rice? Well, who would hold a price On the heads of the innocent children If there's some immortal power To control the dice? We come in to the world and take our chances Fate is just the weight of circumstances That's the way that lady luck dances Roll the bones Jack, relax. Get busy with the facts. No zodiacs or almanacs, No maniacs in polyester slacks. Just the facts. Gonna kick some gluteus max. It's a paralax, you dig? You move around The small gets big. It's a rig It's action -- reaction Random interaction. So who's afraid Of little abstraction Can't get no satisfaction From the facts? You'd better run, homeboy A fact's a fact From Nome to Rome, boy. What's the deal? Spin the wheel. If the dice are hot -- take a shot. Play your cards. Show us what you got -- What you're holding. If the cards are cold Don't go folding. Lady Luck is golden; She favors the bold. That's cold Stop throwing stones -- The night has a thousand saxaphones. So get out there and rock, And roll the bones. Get busy! |

So what say you? Find someone who is struggling and help them out....im 50 w/no kids or family...........There are kids out there who need you but be advised, I found a buddy who needed my help 8 years ago They finally are at a point where they can tell what what they have been thru...............Its harder than hell to let the police do their job and not deal with the pos yourself........REALLY FUCKING HARD I promised my buddy I would not do anything that would put m e in jail........The pos better be praying I don't come down with something terminal. |
It's not for everyone for sure, but some folks w/o kids are just weirdos when they get older. I know a couple without kids... They have a dog, and they call the dog baby, and they take pictures of the dog, and dress the dog up, and have play dates with other dogs...
