I read that a long time ago.  IIRC there was an leo on the board in the area where this supposedly happened that said he was unaware of this incident.  FWIW.

Too detailed, reads like a Jack Reacher novel.

I did some searching and some guy on the other site had PM'ed with the poster of this story and said it checked out.  Can't find anything concrete but seems plausible.

Yup

So the guy, who has had a lot of firearms courses, notices a van slowly driving the other direction on the street.

I remember nobody seemed to be able to find a news story on it, and I do remember it containing details about the restaurant and city it was in, which is where the local LEO came into it.

Yea, I'm raising the BS flag on this story.

I remember reading this before. If it checks out true that DA and council woman are worthless.

the way that reads to me is he drew a firearm on a guy that was just carrying a gun in his waistband ..

then that guy attempted to defend himself and got shot ..

IIRC this was also posted in that long thread in Carry Issues that was about 30 something pages of CCW experiences.  If anyone has a link to that thread it would be helpful.

If it were real, there would some shred of evidence to support it.

Sounds fake. Way too stylized to be a legit first hand account.
