... Smart move, looks like he'll spare the bloodbath Story linkfix |

He hasn't accepted. The article states that the Arab League believes he will accept. Iraq's real position will only be stated at the last minute. There's an emergency Iraqi parliament (yeah, right) session today where they are "carefully studying the resolution. Saddam has not yet accepted, and his voice is the only voice that matters in Iraqi policy. All others are puppets. |

I trust Saddam about as far as I can throw him. Even if he does allow "complete and open inspections", does anybody REALLY believe he'll hand it all over? What a pipe dream. I hope our leaders are not going to stand down the military preparations because of this (not likely, but anything's possible). They should go on and proceed as if none of this were happening. These statements and "agreements" are fly-specks on the windshield of history. |

Whoa...Just a second here guys, This article does not say Iraq has accepted the resolution. It says Cairo thinks they will accept the resolution and the Egyptians guess what Saddam will do wrong about as often as they guess right. In fact most of the countries of the Middle East lapse into poor judgment when it comes to what Iraq will do next. Does any body want to put forth the news reporting of Al Jeezera as anything resembling a honest look at the facts of what's going on in the Middle East? Let me Get this strait...This is the same Egyptian media that puts on long multi-part TV Specials claiming that Jews use the blood of Arab children as a baking ingredient, but your willing to trust what they say when it comes to Saddam's intent to accept the U.N. Resolution? |

I hope he does accept it, but I don't think it will prevent the pointless aggression on Iraq. The warmongers want to kill lots of innocent Iraqis for false reasons, and they will get it. Remember, Saddam is a survivor, and he will do anything to stay alive and in power. That includes being humiliated by these pointless inspections(pointless because Iraq doesn't have WMD). |

Someone pointed out something that was interesting. And certainly makes sense. That saddam, in order to keep power, will allow the inspections and allow the dismantling of his weapons of mass destruction. He will do this in order to survive or outwait BushII and wait for the next Democrats to take the presidency. He knows that Democrats love to work through the UN, he also knows that he will have no problem with the UN who don't have the political will to enforce anything with strong language or anything that must be backed up with deeds. I guess its just wait and see now. |
