So, GSD stands for German Shepard Dog.

Why? Why not GS?

We know it's a fucking dog, unless ther's a German Shepard Cat, snail, box turtle, etc you could be talking about.

Same reason it's a Portuguese Water Dog or an Australian Cattle Dog. That's the name of the breed.
