Heinlein - Stranger in a Strange Land. The Church was a one stop shop. If you did something within the Church, it was blessed, but it was a sin if you did the same thing without being blessed by the Church first. Church had it's own casino and it's own brothels (and obviously it's own form of Holy Communion). Do not recall a strip club being mentioned, but is it really necessary if you have booze and prostitutes already? |
