Bouncing to Grateful Dead show in the 80's would have accomplished the same thing.

Great movie. Different time, I guess you had to have experienced the sixties to appreciate it.

They have an Easy Rider replica bike at Barber's Motorsports Museum in Leeds, AL.  Stop by and check it out (along with the thousand other brands of motorbike there).

I remember all the hoopla about that movie when it came out.

Not bad for a "B" movie, but not spectacular.

I'm torn that it is a pretty cool movie, but it is also 100% hippie nonsense that led to our current destruction.

Crap movie, great soundtrack! This was way before any music video had been done so keep that in perspective. They set out to go to Mardi Gras and get a Mardi Gras queen but in the end settled for hookers, got beat up, and got..........you know. It does however give a good look into the counter culture but only a peek and at a safe distance. Utopian society rears its head and at least the movie did show there are down sides to living in a community like that. Michigan sweater (Nicholson)was a real poor choice for an wardrobe for a middle aged educated man. Also, the old hippy at the beginning really could have been left out. I ask the hive, what purpose did his character serve? No development? nothing.
I guess the only message I got from the movie....................................do what you enjoy, but do it everyday

Captain America, and Billy represented everything that was wrong with that generation. In the end, they got what they deserved.

Watched it as a child. It does not stand up to the test of time. Crazy Larry, Dirty Mary was on the other night. The car chase still stands up well, the rest of the movie is total shit. Peter Fonda's acting is terrible. Worse than anything on Scifi channel today.....
