Lockheed apparently did some development of the F-104 and come up with the X-27/CL-1200 Lancer.

Interesting what if. Was supposed to compete for the F-5 market. Had a lengthened fuselage for more fuel.

Anyone got anymore "What if" aircraft?

Boomer?......like a missile submarine? Yeah, I guess so. It definitely comes from the era when the apparent sole desired criteria is FAST!.

Someone should have told the Germans... They loved their Starfighters.

I do like the 105 myself. The Missile with a man in it.

Sweep the wings a little more, and it almost resembles an F-1 Mirage..............probably would have been a great plane

I got my introduction to the F-104 from that ass-awful movie The Starfighters on MST3k, back in the day. God damn, is that a terrible movie. Sick-looking jet, though.
