Dose anyone here know where to get brass made to custom dimensions (not just wildcat cartridges)?

I have a crazy idea for a round between 50BMG and .338 Lapua. Close to the .408 CheyTac, but different.

And I already know, this is going to be very costly...

Get custom dies made, and make the brass yourself out of something else... that's what most wildcatters and BR shooters do...

I cant seem to find any .577 T-rex brass anywhere, and ,last I checked, A-Square was still out of business.

The whole concept is pretty fascinating to me. I guess either your own/work for a machine shop/custom gun shop or know one that can make a custom barrel chambered for the round? I can't see any other way to make that work.

It could be cheaper to machine brass.  It would depend on how many pieces of brass the OP wants.
You can easily spend over $2000 getting custom dies made.

Midway will do it.  For a reasonable price.

I could macine brass myself, but how would machined brass stand up to the industry standard extruding process ?

Im sure you can spend that much, but it can be done way less than that.... most custom dies are made by programming a computer that automates the machining process, and there are a decent amount of companies that do it.  I know a few wildcatters that have a bunch of of custom dies made for their own brass and chamber reamer designs, some of which end up never being used... and there is now way they are spending anywhere $2k on dies for any of them.

After doing more research, it looks as though what i was trying to make has already been done (with only a minor difference in the taper of the case) in the 375 VM2.

oh, well

off to find other things to waste time and money on....
