Well, shit... How the hell did I get here?
The first thing that comes to my mind is that I have ~10k reasons why I should probably find something else to do with my time. 
If I remember correctly, I joined because I was failing a trigger swap in my PSL, and I needed help. I think my first post was somewhere in the AK section. I didn't really lurk beforehand, and I had no idea I'd spend this much time here. I probably would have chosen a different username if that wasn't the case. It's pretty weird admitting that I've been even remotely influenced by a bunch of random ass strangers on the internet, but I'd be lying if I denied it completely... The first thing that comes to mind for me is the fact that I got a CCW. I never really thought about it before I started spending time here. The G19 didn't really work out for me, but that's another story. The other thing that immediately comes to mind is the fact that you guys are incredibly good about ruining blissful ignorance about guns. For example, for a while, I had a Taurus revolver on my "to get" list. After being here, not only have I learned the reasons to look beyond Taurus, but I've also become conscious of the quality differences between Ruger's DA offerings and S&W. So, most of my revolvers are S&Ws, and I like them quite a bit, but those bastards weren't cheap, and I probably never would have known any better if I was never here and I was playing with a Taurus that probably would have needed a service call or two. There are other examples of this in my collection.
Even though I spend most of my time in GD, I've learned a lot of shit here from reloading to terminal ballistics to fun facts about various C&Rs. I l'l most likely be around for a while, but hopefully it takes me a bit longer to hit that submit button another 10k times. |
| Congrats, one thing I have learned here is to take what is said here with a grain of salt, just like a gun store many people here have other motives sometimes based on rumor and not fact. While I will agree S&W makes a better quality firearm than say Taurus all the Taurus's I have owned have worked just fine. I don't need a BMW when a Chevrolet will do the same job. |

I came here looking for advice on whether or not I should put a Shepherd scope on my AR. They told me I was fucking retarded and that I didn't need to waste my money on that.
Now I own two Acogs, 3 Aimpoints, an SBR, 2 supressors, an AR10 and a really nice PVS-14. That doesn't even touch the handguns and other gear I've got.
Yeah, don't fucking waste your money on that optic when there's all this other shit to waste it on.
