What is it? What is the definition? I just received a letter from a customer, who said that she refuses to pay the F.E.T. because it's a "war" tax, and she is a pacifist.[>:/] Please help me respond knowledgeably. Thanks guys and gals, Joshua |

| I remember a few years ago, circa 1975, when we used to pay Federal Excise Tax(FET) on tires. We used to list the tax(it was based on the wieght of the tire!), the price of the tire, total the two figures, and calculate the sales tax on the total. Today, there is only a few items that we pay excise tax on. Complete guns, I forget how it was caluculated, but if you buy just the reciever, you don't pay FET. If I not not mistaken, some products(like complete guns already have the FET included). |
