So it has been going in a few weeks now.

If I search something on google, it comes up with results.  When I click on any of the results it comes up a blank page.  In the new tab before it tries to load it shows a 123.1234.223 type number(not the actual number I typed), and then comes up blank.

I have ran full system scans multiple times and nothing but tracking cookies is found.

I have uninstalled google, reinstalled it, and still the same.

I started using bing because I could not figure it out, and now after a couple days it is doing the same thing.

I have cleared all caches etc, run Norton at least 30 times and nothing changes.

Also, I can type www.address.com and I can get whatever page I am looking for.  It is my search functions

Call Norton. If their security is not clearing it, they will remote in and fix it. That's what you pay that subscription for.

make sure your homepage is set to www.google.com instead of some other search engine.

alot of stuff will change your search engine to whatever they want and then they control the search results.

download malwarebytes here and run a full scan

you may also want to open a command prompt and type "ipconfig /flushdns" without quotations. typically when your browser is hijacked it will change the DNS settings to use whatever DNS server they want you to use which will control what actually opens when you click on a link

if you still have trouble run TDSS killer, this is an anti rootkit application thats free and provided by kaspersky

Just had this happen to me. If I can fix it you can. Have a buddy download malware bytes on a cd or flash drive, start your comp in safe mode with networking. Install the software run the scan.

This and may need to run "adwcleaner" as well, depending on what you have. All free but have their limitations.

Hitman Pro will fix most Google redirectors very well.  It is fully functional and free for 30 days. Might as well give it a shot http://surfright.nl

Problem is I started using bing, it worked for a couple days and now doing the same thing.

I tried google chrome and it hasn't done it yet but I hate it, and I cant just leave the computer like this.

did you fix yours?  How?

I am running the malwarebytes scan now

Typically, when this type of thing happens you have recently downloaded something from the web and clicked "yes" too fast without reading about the other software that is being offered. My dad recently was in the same situation. Took me a couple hours to figure out how to get rid of it.

His was the "Delta Search" browser hijacker.

You have any more clues you could give me or are there any other identifiers of your hijacker?

Eta: Likely you will have a few program files to delete before you can delete the browser add-ons or the problem will just regenerate.

I had this same problem last year.  Here's what worked for me.

- Install Malwarebytes, MS Defender, and SuperAntiSpyware.

- Run the updates for everything.

- Reboot in safe mode WITHOUT connecting to the internet.

- Run Malwarebytes, MS Defender, and SuperAntiSpyware scans.  Full scans, not quick scans.

Good luck!

I've had great results with SuperAntiSpyware. On more that a few occasions it's caught stuff that Malwarebytes missed.
