LA Restaurant Has 45-Page Water Menu, Water Sommelier

Ray's & Stark Bar, the Patina Group's restaurant and bar located at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, will be adding a 20-item Water Menu to its beverage list next week. Eater LA reports that Ray's & Stark GM and water sommelier Martin Riese
created the list which includes waters from ten different countries
including Spain, France, Germany, and Canada. The bottles range in size
from .75 - 1 liter, and are priced from $8 - $16. The most expensive bottle is Riese's own California-made water 9OH2O. Eater LA had previously reported that 9OH2O retails for $14 per bottle because it's made "in limited editions of 10,000 individually numbered glass bottles."

Bern's Steakhouse in Tampa has a wine list the size of a phone book.

The nondescript warehouse next to the restaurant is the wine cellar.

I've paid $45 for a single bottle of cider and over $12 for a bottle of water at a restaurant.

Now the huge selection... that's a bit odd.

There were single bottles of cider/beer up into the $250 range.

I cheaped out on the $45.

Despite the fact that I buy purified water from the local glacier machines, I liked Penn and Teller's episode on bottled water. Phoenix's tap water DOES taste noticeably different so much so that it affects the taste of things you drink like tea.

It depends on what part of the valley you get your water from. Some are ok and others are awful, recently our water has had a strong chlorine smell

I can see one of the local bigger bottled water pumping plants from my house. They suck the water from under the swamp by the river and trunk it to the bottler by semi.

You know, here at my house, we have these things called "faucets".  You turn a little handle and this magical substance "water" comes out of a spout.

And it's FREE.  All FREE.
