As a spin off of the cologne thread I thought it would be good to have a Tips for Young Men thread.
Lets face it for many of today young men they did not have a Dad around to teach them some of these things. My tip is that when you shower wash your entire body TWICE. That way you will get all the grunge off and smell better. |

Young men, don't even think about getting married until around 25. You will change so much between high school and your mid twenties that you are not the same person. Use that time to learn, travel, start a career, start your own business, date lots...
I wish I would have listened to my grandfather back then, things would have turned out different for me. |
|
Know how to drive a manual transmission and ride a motorcycle.
Learn how to not totally suck at bowling, pool, golf, darts, etc. Have an active fitness path. Have a few serious relationships before you ever think you've found "the one". Don't trust her to take the pill correctly. |

Video Games are for kids. Unless you have kids, then they are fun. With kids.
Learn how to fix stuff. If you dont know, find out, that way you will know next time. Buy a decent set of tools. Used is fine. Carry a pocket knife. Always. Wear a watch. Always. Don't be a bitch. Always. |

Pay attention to two things when looking for a job: Grooming and Punctuality. These two items are ENORMOUSLY more important than you can imagine. Absolutely this. With this, I will add a few more to my list.... Wear a collared shirt if you are going anywhere where people might see you. T-shirts are for the beach, playing ball, or working outside. Men built the Hoover Dam in 3-pc suits, you can wear a damn polo to the store. Learn how to form a complete, proper sentence. Never use "text speak." Never. Even when you text. Learn how to sew, even if its just a button. |

Learn how to identify someone who is Narcisistic.

Sometimes the things that may or may not be true are the things that a man needs to believe in the most: that people are basically good; that honor, courage, and virtue mean everything; that power and money, money and power mean nothing; that good always triumphs over evil; and I want you to remember this, that love, true love, never dies... No matter if they're true or not, a man should believe in those things because those are the things worth believing in.

| The real judge of what kind of person someone is has more to do with how they are when they are at their worst than how they are when they are at their best. You really don't know a person's true character until you have seen them in adversity. This is true of friends, co-workers, and women that you date. Also, in the case of women, pay attention to their mothers. Most women, to a large degree, become their mothers. |
