| Our GMC Acadia's Air Conditioning Functions perfectly for about an hour then the front stops blowing and the rear aux. AC blows only hot air. The front AC vents blow out some vapor, but no air. When the vehicle is not in use for a bit, the AC returns back to normal until that "magic hour" comes around with the AC running. The AC goes back to having the same problem like clock work. I took it to the local auto mechanic and it was hooked up to the diagnostic machine. He said the "low side service port" had a leak and only 10 oz of freon left. He said he fixed the leak and all pressures were back to normal. Should this fix the original problem I explained above?? |

I would say I have heard nothing but bad things about that vehicle. You may want to consider getting rid of it.

I assume if you continued to have issues you can take it back to the tech but otherwise I would think he knows how to fix the AC.
I don't even think I've seen acadia on the road before, why does GM continue to come out with so many new lines of vehicles, it makes them look bad. |

It's one of those SUV crossover thingys. It's the family kid hauler my wife uses. It was either that or a mini van The Acadia has been out since 2007. |

Very strange that the front ac would stop blowing air all together. Low r132a wouldn't make it stop blowing air. I know GM suv's are notorious for the hvac mode actuator shitting the bed. Might be worth looking into if you are still having problems. This is what I was thinking too. I don't see low freon stopping the front blower. |

Take it back to the tech and have him look at it again. Did you look under the hood when it stops working? Does the clutch on the ac unit kick on and off? Are the ac lines frozen over? |

Only like cold vapor is trickling out, like when you open a freezer. The rear AUX blows but HOT air only. This is all after a hour of working fine. |

Unless you have two blower motors in that truck, if the rear AUX is blowing, then it's probably a door / actuator issue in the HVAC airbox. It could be due to a vacuum leak (that gets worse after an hour of driving) because the actuator pots work off engine vacuum. |

My guess is the freon charge fixes the rear but you'll still run into the front not working. I just changed the actuator for my parents on their GMC Envoy but it was not difficult to get to (Didn't have to pull the entire dash apart). I've never wrenched on an Acadia so I don't know the parts compatibility or if it's easily accessible. Here is the part for Envoys/Trailblazer to give you an idea of what it looks likehttp://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0016IDV9M/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 |
| Huh, just had mine fixed. Something to do with the HVAC controller. On mine, the rear air worked sporadically. As far as vehicles go, its a glorified minivan and if Subaru made something similar in size I'd dump it in a second. I've had it less than a year and been to the shop 3 times for minor BS. The only + is it gets pretty good mileage for an AWD vehicle and I fit all the rugrats in it. |
