| What is the benefit to not have one? I would not want a pistol without a trigger gaurd. I dont think I could carry with one in the pipe in this config. |

There was a Glock you could have bought and checked it out for us.
Found it http://pics.gunbroker.com/GB/350865000/350865020/pix238516771.jpg thats the exact one I saw. It make no sense to me to do this. just wanted to hear other opinions |

Fitz Specials were somewhat popular in the old days, but gun safety wasn't nearly as common back then. I still own a black powder deringer with out a trigger guard. The trigger pops out on half cock.
If you had a double action revolver in an empty desk drawer, it wouldn't be that dangerous. |

There was a book by a Brit, possibly W.E. Fairbairn, that was connected with the Shanghai Police force back in the 20's or 30's I believe. The partial trigger guard was his answer to getting a revolver into action fast. Just a vague recollection.
Confirmed, the book was Shoot To Live by W.E. Fairbairn |

No benefits, but lots of drawbacks.
It was featured on the old "Fitz Specials", which were cool because they were one of the first attempts to create a bigbore bellygun. The only way I would go without a triggerguard these days is on one of the small single actions that must be cocked first. |

Guns have always been minimalist, so if there was no need for a trigger guard, it would have disappeared a long time ago. The thought of not having one send chills down mine spine. |
