I will not post pics as I'm ashamed to say that I work with 2 of them but later on tonight I will be sure they here it. Stupid assholes. |

Quoted: Nobody knows what respect is anymore. 40 years ago, if someone did that they would get slapped in the face and most likely mud stomped. Remember to thank a liberal for this. Respect is something you give people and victims of racism, not objects or symbols of oppression. R-E-S-P-E-C-T Find out what it means to me! |

Seriously? This is a non issue. Oh noes , someone is stepping on a piece of fabric. Your moral outrage would be better directed elsewhere. You take symbols way too seriously. IL. Really? With all the shit going on today, all that's wrong with this country? This is what you care about? |

Please enlighten us, O wise one....where do YOU draw the respect line? That 'symbol', as you refer to it, represents the tens of thousands of lives given to protect your liberties. Maybe you should brush up on exactly what the red stripes on that 'symbol' 'symbolize'. Personally....I'll go to prison before I'll watch some cocksucker disrespect the American Flag....but then my 'moral outrage' stems from respect. |
| I find getting upset over a symbol to be illogical. I'm sorry if you lost friends on the battlefield, but why not assign blame where its due rather than to people who are "disrespecting" some cloth. I've never understood nationalism or patriotism . I find it to be kind of vulgar to be honest. Sorry to be a downer on independence day. Judging by your avatar, I doubt you'll take kindly to this post. |

Stop feeding the trolls guys.
Children are a slightly different subject for me. Yes the parents need to teach them to respect the flag but our government have belittled it too much that they don't see it the same as most of us. They don't even stand up and say the pledge any more. The national anthem before all games is more of a I want to be on american idol contest. I have more of a problem with someone who puts up a flag in the front yard and allows it to be completely ripped to shit. That is someone who is pushing that they are patriotic in the front yard but can't take care of it. |

I always like to get folks a little riled up by telling them about the hundreds of US flags I have burned over the years.
I was on the color guard of our Boy Scout troop and we regularly offered proper ceremonial disposal for our countries flag, and so few these days know proper flag handling and therefore had no idea that a ceremonial burning is the proper means of disposal. |

I remember being around 9 or 10, and was celebrating the 4th of July at home, running around the front yard with a small flag. I ran past the fence and it snagged, ripping it nearly in half.
I knew at that early age, that if the flag was damaged and unfit for display, it was supposed to be destroyed. I took it to my dad, and we burned it out of RESPECT. He went and bought me another one as soon as we were done. I'm pretty sure I learned proper flag etiquette in grade school - maybe 2nd or 3rd grade. Everyone knew the rules on how to treat treat the flag back then. It's no surprise most people could give a fuck about our flag today. Respect and honor are no longer valued by most in this country. |
