Lt. MacKenzie mentions in his essay how certain colonials using "long guns as used for duck hunting" were "good marksmen" and took a heavy toll on the British infantrymen.

I've a bookcase dedicated to the Colonial Era.  

Washington was an amazing man.  He managed to hold a defeated army together is a testimony to his leadership and the determination of the Continentals.  

Look at Americans today.  Instead of concentrating on what the NSA does (which Washington wouldn't approve) they're distracted by Trayvon v. Zimmerman and other nonsense.
