in light of all these threads regarding cops doing really stupid things: arresting the guy filming them and shooting his dog in LA; home invasion to use as a Command Post in Las Vegas


What is typically the outcome in situations like this or where they got the warrant address wrong? Do the victims usually get any settlement and are the cops really punished, fired, or jailed?

The victims sometimes get to live and pick up the can another day. Their dogs usually don't.

The cops get vacation and promotions.

There is a cupcake party for the idiot cops where they receive the award for killing a dog imposing their will on harmless citizens.  The taxpayers in turn get the bill for the out of court cash settlement and the victims hopefully can find a new dog to love.

Both of the lawsuits you mention will likely get dismissed and the plaintiff won't receive so much as a dime.
