They get into my corn occasionally. I have gone by a few and they lit me up good. Didn`t know what they were or where they were until I found a few very small ones. One year, I found several on the underside of a corn leaf BEFORE they found me. One was over an inch long!!

They're probably going to fall off mid air and down your shirt.

Quoted: Saddleback caterpillar. This, and it SUUUUUUCCCCKKKKKSSSSS if you rub any part of your body up against those little spiny stingers. Nothing you can do will get rid of the burning and if you're sensitive to the venom, it'll make you feel like you want to hurl for a few hours. BTDT, it was awful. |

Quoted:
The ones in my area are white with the black whiskers. Got hit by one a few years back on the shin. Burned like hell, and in a little while it got in my lymph glands and it felt like someone was trying to dislocate my hip joint. Yeah, those are we have around here. Seem partial to fruitless Mulberry trees. Which we had a couple of in the backyard when I was a kid. I'd rather be stung by yellow jackets than brush up against those things. |
