Johnny_Reno JR had a friend over for an overnight video game evening.  When they arise from their slumber, I will be assembling them in the kitchen to make an old time favorite.  Below is a simplified version of the recipe.  Go to the store and get these simple ingredients and have your kids make it with you.  It's easy for them to help and everyone loves it.

Ingredients

- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 cans (16.3 oz each) Pillsbury® Grands!® Homestyle refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, (optional)
- 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
- 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 3/4 cup butter or margarine, melted

Directions

Step 1
Heat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease 12-cup fluted tube pan with shortening or cooking spray. In large -storage plastic food bag, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon.

Step 2
Separate dough into 16 biscuits; cut each into quarters. Shake in bag to coat. Arrange in pan, adding walnuts and raisins among the biscuit pieces.

Step 3
In a small pan, mix brown sugar and butter; heat, melt and pour over biscuit pieces.

Step 4
Bake 28 to 32 minutes or until golden brown and no longer doughy in center. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Turn upside down onto serving plate; pull apart to serve. Serve warm.

Do it.

If you like raisins in your cinnamon rolls, you'll like them in your monkey bread.

I like them, but Mrs Reno and J_R Jr do not, so no raisins for me.

Tis no fun.

Plus, no family bonding time.

Simple recipe for kids.  Delicious treat for grown-ups.
