They're serving.
At what is it you're laughing? I look around at the rest of the country, and I see the human drains on society with both hands out for their welfare checks and their 'Bama phones. And they have no intention of getting a job...or working ever again. The AF may not be the Navy SEALs...but they signed up and took the oath. They have my respect and thanks; every damn one of them. Did you? |

I went through the six week program in the summer of 2004.
Spent a total of one day with a real M16A2. Back then it was all a big mental game, ATTENTION TO DETAIL rammed down our throats. We'd spend hours folding our clothing just right for our wall locker displays and God help you if you had an unclipped string or something of that nature. Since the bulk of the USAF is a support function, people who aren't trigger pullers or the tip of the spear, the Basic that we have is not perfect but it works |

Is it bad that I laughed all the way through this becasue it seems so sad ?
Is it bad that I am laughing at you because you seem so sad? |

Heh...this reminds me that I didn't get the "depart from the bus" full experience because we were forced to give our seats up on one of the connecting flights to the base, and didn't pass through the gates till well after everyone else was asleep in the dorms. ...of course it was summer field training, so we cadets probably got treated even more gently. |
