Bought 1lb of ground kangaroo today.  Very lean (98%) and quite tasty.  Gamy smell when cooking, flavor perhaps a cross between venison and beef?  Expensive at $9/lb, but a good treat.

Sorry, no pics.  Imagine a patty with onions, garlic, salt, and pepper.....

On the George Foreman barbie.  It's so lean I think I would have dried it out on the grill.  The grease tray was bone dry.

I lived in Sydney for awhile... kangaroo is delicious, makes comfy shoes and fantastic gloves. Superior to beef in every way.

When I was in AU they said they wouldn't eat it because it had to many worms in it. Maybe it was only

Depends on the roo population.  Some are diseased as fuck.  Some are pretty alright.  IIRC the vast majority of roo meat is from the wild.  Roos are actually in plague proportions, so there are huge culling operations going just to keep the population in check.

I personally am not much of a fan of roo meat.  Used to like it, but I prefer beef, lamb and pork.

People here usually regard roo meat as dog food.
