.Gov pays farmers not to grow certain crops.

Ergo, how long before they start paying ammo makers not to make ammo?

I doubt the .gov could offer the same amount to not make it as some private buyers would offer to make it.

the subsidies for not planting certain crops has zero to do with soil erosion. It is for price control

CRP served dual purposes. Govt will never pay to stop manufacturing of ammo, manufacturers would just sell their components to handloaders.
