How thick is the average foundation on a 2000 sq ft (2 story) suburban home?

Do mountain climbers ever run out of those spikes they secure themselves with to the mountain while climbing?

Motorcycles built between 1980 to 2000 where did they all go - I hardly ever see them on the road?
