Just finished watching FOX news report that Saddam won his election with 100% (!) of the Iraqui vote. The hired crowd was out in the streets celebrating, shooting off AK's, etc. The reporter mentioned that Iraq's civilian population is well armed, as they showed 'happy' Iraqui civilians firing automatic weapons into the air to celebrate Saddam's victory in the horsesh!t election. A pro-2nd amendment dictator? Wow! |

Hussein "says" that the civilian population is heavily armed, and they probably are, as long as you consider the fact that only Ba'athists (Saddam's political party) and members of Saddam's tribe are considered to be members of his civilian population. Kurds, Shiites, Christians and anyone else who is not part of Saddam's team are not allowed to own weapons. Saddam is no fan of RKBA; only his friends may be armed. A good comparison would be Nazi Germany; the general population was disarmed, but the military, police organs, Nazi party, and various militia/irregular military units under the control of the party were heavily armed. |

I was curious........do you teach state approved "gun safety" materials? Speaking strictly about my own state, I know that my friends that are teachers do teach the state approved "gun safety" material. This includes teaching kids that "guns are bad" and "guns hurt/kill people". It also includes "if you see a gun tell an adult or police officer". HHHMMMM........ Given that you are a teacher, what would your reasons be for frequenting this site? If you are an avid shooter, welcome. However, this wouldn't be an attempt to "do some research on how easily available information on evil guns is" now would it? -REAPER2502 |

Welcome to the board Heather!! I think a few of us forgot to formally welcome you![BD] That's a valid observation, but unfortunately Saddam will not arm anyone he doesn't already pay or know. If your hired to go in the streets to drum up celebration, I'll bet his background check is an armed guard at your families house that will pick off your mom and dad if you wave the gun in his general direction[while you're shooting in the air acting happy that he won the election]. He lives a very paranoid life and thinks an assassin is always just around the corner. He has multiple look alike's doing different activities all the time, and he never sleeps in the same place/palace/house more than twice. |

And now he says he is afraid to come to the range with me. He has fired .22 rifles and pistols, so he has no reason to be afraid- stupid ass teachers- present company excluded, of course Heather. All I can say is teach them young and keep teaching them. |

Wow! saw alot of women w/ AK's, did you? i didnt think so funny how they were all clean shaven and short haired, huh? almost like "military grooming". nah, i'm sure they were civilians. |

I think the sarcastic/humorous tone of my post was completely lost. Oh well, sorry boys. State approved gun-safety materials? Nope, I do not, but some of my colleagues do. My basic lecture to the students pretty much mirrors the Eddie Eagle instruction program, which hubby and I both volunteer with. "SKOOL" was not my word, but sometimes the slower 5th graders spell it like that. No offense to Blammo, the friendly one- he used it. There goes that sarcasm thing again. |

Heather, You know your situation better than anyone else, BUT, I would think that participating in a "hobby" web site such as this, from sKool, would raise some eyebrows. Heck, didn't some poor child get expelled for drawing a picture of a army man with a rifle? Don't get in trouble down there! --LS |
