Stupid. Who the hell cares if it cuts your hand? If someone has a gun in you and all you can do is grab it, then grab it. If you cut your hand then you keep fighting. Someone is trying to fucking kill you. That means you fight until you are dead, regardless of hand getting scratched, burned, cut, shot or whatever. I am no badass, no by a long shot, but if you want to kill me then I am going to fight as hard as I can to prevent it. Besides, getting shot with a handgun is rarely lethal, especially if you can move you COM offline from the gun. I don't mean to sound like a hardass, but if I take a bullet then I take a bullet and keep fighting. I refuse to be an easy victim.

If it hits a bone and fragments or ricochetes, then it can do a lot of damage. But I'd rather have a fucked up arm than a bullet through the heart or a lung. The other side of the coin is the dude who got shot in Iraq who got shot in the mouth with a 9mm and kicked the terrorists ass. A couple days latter his tooth was hurting so he went to the dentist and found out that he had a 9mm bullet lodged in his gums.

Just gotta watch out for the threats reaction. Keep a firm grip, muzzle away from head/COM, to your side... Use other hand to grab the forearm, rotate the pistol into the threat, disarm. Basically.
My reaction to someone grabbing the pistol would be to (1) step back and pull away... Potentially bringing the muzzle back on target, (2) kick the opponent, (3) pull the pistol in close to my chest and use my offhand elbow to break his grip.. Quoted:
If nothing else, they have some bad ass Tier 1 beards. Good demonstration too... I always wondered how much force the slide was under during recoil. |

I need a beard. I always wished I could grow one. My buddy who has zero knowledge about firearms or shooting, had the most epic Costa beard going on when I went home last. I had him look up a picture of Costa on his phone to see what I was talking about, but he had it rockin' nice. I could never be like the Duck Dynasty dudes and I don't think I would ever constantly rock a beard for years......but I wish I had the ability my buddy does. He can grow out that Costa beard, rock it for a few weeks, go back to a clean shaved look for awhile, and then grow out another full beard within a couple weeks. I have the choice of clean shaved, clean shaved, or ugly patchy dirt face. |

Quoted: I don;t see what the big deal is. How could they have gotten hurt doing that? Certainly interesting that they didn't sustain any injuries whatsoever from the slide kicking back. Eh, good informative video, the joy of youtube is people doing dumb things so you don't have to! As far as injuries from the slide, it didn't move that far, it barely even moved enough to unlock. I run my fingers up against the slides of guns all the time shooting IDPA an have had nary a problem. |

Quoted: Interesting but IMHO that would take an incredible amount of practice, confidence and comfort before it could be applied in a real life scenario. And why no love for the .380. Not like its a .22 ![]() I did it all the time to people as an instructor for an introduction to hand guns course. Takes less skill and practice than survival instinct. ![]() |

Keep fighting till the end People are funny when it comes to gun shots, some of them are "disabled" when they get shot anywhere. Other guys I have personally witnessed talking on their Iphone and walking after taking 2 to the thigh. Pretty much any other animal out there runs when it gets shot, humans are conditioned to be "disabled" As to the video do what it takes to survive but I would imagine you're more prone to a hand injury when going full speed and with being able to set your grio |
