| I just sold a 50 round drum magazine for the Glock in the EE . I have since found out the guy is in California. Is it legal to ship it their? I thought Cali had a 10 round limit on magazines? |

Quoted:
You can only ship "repair kits" for magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. If you send a bag of magazine parts, that doesn't count as a magazine. True, and good advice. If you can disassemble it, send the pieces in two separate shipments to more closely follow the letter of the law. I'd be wary, though. It may not be some average Joe that's stuck in California... it could be a sting. It's happened before. |

I would think no, since it is California law and you are not in California. He would only be at risk if he has an FFL (risk of having his FFL revoked). The buyer in Cali would be taking the risk for "importing or causing to be imported" a banned item, if he received a complete, assembled magazine. Quoted: You can ship parts kits for mags that did not exist before the ban? Who's gonna know? Mags generally don't have serial numbers. Establishing a date of manufacture is difficult, or impossible. |
