My point is that everyone is crying religion, when we have seen an extraordinary amount of almost-systematical child abuse inside the church, and it has never been adressed, only covered up over and over, and then finally ignored.
My point is dont hide behind religion, just come out and say it "I'm a homophobe" dont use the bible or the consititution to shield yourself, just realize your a homophobe. I dont mean YOU in general I mean those who hide behind the bible or constitution as a way to trample the rights of others. |

I know that SCOTUS has set a precedent on this. and as far as biblical doctrine goes, there are plenty of churches that accept gays, you may not think they're "real" but thats an entirely other discussion. The long and short of it is I dont buy the religion excuse, if thats so then everyone should have abandonded the vatican by now, why was there no massive uproar about DEAF DISABLED boys being abused, and then covered up, but allowing young boys that happen to be gay into scouts will descend us into Sodom and Gomorrah |

I've got no dog in this hunt, but the BSA is a Federally Chartered Corporation. Also, anyone who claims to be afraid of a gay Scout Master out with the troop alone camping should be amazed at the thought of just one adult with kids anywhere. I'm not a Scout but I'm pretty sure Scout leadership, especially on campouts is a "No Lone Zone" simply because of liability exposure. (No pun intended) ALWAYS more than one adult. |

It is not a RIGHT to demand other people celebrate your lifestyle and force your lifestyle in their face and openly into their private organization. |

A statistic a heard recently was fresh in my mind that for the first time a majority of the new generation is atheist. I have beaten to death in other threads your stance that the BSA is allowed to discriminate, they arent allowed to discriminate against gays just as much as im not allowed to say I dont walla sell my home to a black family. There was no law telling them they MUST let gays in, they caved into pressure from the public. People saw something they didn't like, they pressured the organization, organization voted to make changes, the BSA is not a person, stop talking about the BSA as if they're being forced to the back of the bus My generation behind me?? The ones who supported Obomber? please. My generation though, I know will be more accepting of our fellow people |

I don't hate anyone really for who or what they are.
That said, I am a male, and not allowed in the women's bathroom. Why? Because I am different. I accept that. But, from here on out, I vow to be able to use a women's restroom and be accepted by all. You can view this however you want. This is more or less a way of looking at it, I don't really care one way or another what happens, I just don't want to hear about it in the first place. It probably would of freaked me out when I was in the scouts, and it still puts questions in my mind, but they are human, and there probably has been a lot of boys in the scouts in the past that were already gay. |

Not only do you fail to understand freedom, you fail to understand discrimination. A private organization is free to allow or not allow someone into their organization A home owner is free to sell or not to sell their home to anybody they want. The only time discrimination is illegal is when it is codified into law. There is no right to not be discriminated against. You do it all the time. Everbody does. You choose things daily. You choose who your friends are. You are discriminating. Do you bring homeless people into your home to sleep at night? No? You are discriminating. You are confused about what freedom and discrimination mean. But I am not surprised by that. You are just echoing what you have been told, instead of thinking for yourself. Typical for someone with very little life experience relying on what he has been told. |

If it had mentioned "the Pope emeritus," you could have made that argument I suppose, but since the Pope is not the man involved in the incident you refer to, it is false. |

You are right on all accounts and I will admit that its a sarcastic way of pointing it out and using the gernal term "pop" isnt accurate at this point. I just dont understand the religion excuse to stop equal rights. Trolling implies malicous intent, which is not what I had. I have been into firearms for a while, knowing full well my views are not supported by "mainstream" 2A supporters, I always avoided places like this, hwoever with the laws taking place in my state I decided to join here to stay informed and view my regional boards. |
