| OK guys never posted anything in the GD but I'm torn and need some advice. My mother asked me to go over and talk with her. Come to find out my dad slapped her last night gave her a black eye and made her eye blood shot. I'm furious and want to go to his work and beat his ass. |

I am going to give you some solid advice straight out of my own personal life. Been there, done that, and don't want to go through it again. Go get a Uhaul trailer, call the police or sheriff's department and have them watch over your mother while she packs in case he comes home before she can get out, then have her stay with you while you move her into an apartment. Under no circumstances should you allow him to know where she has moved. Put it in your name if you must. Go get her a Straight Talk phone with a new number. You can even get a free phone right now off their website. As soon as humanly possible, consult with a few divorce attorneys and start the process of having him served with papers. Make sure you get any important papers for her, like insurance cards, credit cards, healthcare information, social security cards, passports, bank account information, birth certificates, etc. The only difference is my mother left at 5am one morning, but it was the best decision she ever made both for her and myself. personally I would remove her from there with no forwarding contact info, forward the her mail and leave a letter addressing the problem (alcohol I imagine) say after he completes 60 days in AA with proof "you" will sit down with him at a conselors office to assess further treatment.
Now if you call the cops they will mandate this which is good but now you have a alcohol problem and a legal problem which could cause finances to deplete which lead to alcohol issues again. If he smacked her once over an argument and being he's your father you want to help him, if he beat the shit out of her sever ties, call the cops. If I ever hit my wife 1 time she would be gone, no counseling, no talks, no retry's, no sandwhiches - gone all gone. Hang in there, just keep you and your mom safe. |
| She found out he had been cheating a year and a half ago, She told me today that when they first got married he tried gettinh physical and she kicked him out, he went to counseling and had never layed a had on her until recently. He had never actually smacked her until last night, he had grabbed her arrgessively etc but not ever actually hit her. |
