I am going to pickup a Ruger M77 in 300 Win mag today at one gunshop and I am going to look at another revolver at a different shop in the same town and more than likely will buy it too.
Here in SD even though I have a CCW I did not have it before the grandfather date to avoid the NICS check.
My question is, I will be makeing the purchases close together time wise and I want to know if this will cause a problem with the background checks?

Technically they're *supposed* to destroy the records after so many days (or is it 24hrs?) so by the time you get around to making the second purchase, any record of the first one should be gone. There could be a problem if there was a delay on the first purchase and you buy the handgun while the rifle purchase is being processed. An experienced NICS examiner should catch and correct any problems. Then again, this is a *Federal* employee I'm talking about.
Hope for the best, expect the worse [:D].
