Don't have anything to do with this site. I know this is probably common knowledge here but nearly everything from CNET comes packaged with some form of adware/spamware and/or virus.

I actually ran into this problem today. Downloaded a driver for a scanner, and didn't read all the little dialog boxes carefully and it downloaded some stupid toolbar onto my computer. Sweetpacks or something similar. Spent 20 minutes going through and systematically removing it all.

It was partially my fault for not reading the whole message, but they had the "decline" button or whatever it was grayed out, so I thought my only option was to continue.

Like most of those kind of sites you have click the correct "download now" button as they try to trick you to click on other shit.

You didn't read the download carefully and probably got an add-on toolbar or utility installed.

Never had a problem.  In fact, CNET is about the ONLY place I am confident with downloads.
